So, my blog is created and I'm ready for research and improvement of my skills.

Speaking about the blog, it's my first one and I'm very excited! Everything is new for me but I see it as a positive experience. I think, that I'll create other blogs in future for my thoughts, dedicated to different things. I'm even thinking of creating a diary... To my mind, every person should have a diary for expressing his ideas freely, his emotions towards particular events, because it's impossible to keep everything in your mind and when you write everything down and one day you re-read it, you recollect your positive memories. But in this blog, I'm going to explore such branch of linguistics as 'Stylistics' with the help of the text which was suggested for me. The story is titled as 'Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been', written by Joyce Carol Oates. I serfed the Internet and found the biography of the author. She is very interesting personality. The most impressive fact of her biography is that Oates had become one of the most respected and honored writers in the United States though only in her thirties! Her productivity is also impressive! She managed to write 2-3 books per year while working full-time in the university! Joyce Carol Oates has written 56 novels, over 30 collections of short stories, eight volumes of poetry, plays, innumerable essays and book reviews, as well as longer nonfiction works on literary subjects ranging from the poetry of Emily Dickinson and the fiction of Dostoyevsky and James Joyce, to studies of the gothic and horror genres, and on such non-literary subjects as the painter George Bellows and the boxer Mike Tyson. In 1996, Oates received the PEN/Malamud Award for "a lifetime of literary achievement."
According to the title of the story, I think, it is suggestive and thought-provoking. I haven't read the story yet, but my opinion is that it will be about romantic relations between 2 people. So, we'll see further.
